Wedding Bella Sicily...

Do you want to get married but ...you do not know where ??? ....Sicily!just the right place for your Big Day !

...Palermo

...Located on the north west coast, Sicily's bustling, beautiful capital has something for everyone. For the culture vultures, there are art museums, Norman churches and ancient monuments - not to mention a royal palace.

For the fashionistas and shopaholics there are fashion boutiques and charming street markets. While the sun-seekers can head 11km along the coast to the charming beach resort of Mondello or take a boat trip to the idyllic island of Ustica. Good food is also easy to come by, seafood in particular.

If you do one thing...

Visit Monte Pellegrino on the outskirts of Palermo. The scenic route there itself is a good enough reason to go, and once on the top of the mountain you can absorb

the breathtaking views of Palermo, visit the chapel, monuments and caves - where the bones of the city's patron, Santa Rosalia, were discovered.

But of course, Sicily's most famous landmark is the still-active volcano Mouth Etna and a day trip - most of which go from Catania - is well worth the visit. Otherwise,

you can see its peak from most parts of the island on a clear day.

The Opera

The Teatro Massimo is the place to visit if you are a fan of the opera. the Theatre only re-opened nine years ago after closing for over 20 years for refurbishment.

Monthly performances could be anything from Tchaikovsky to Mozart to Puccini,

plus many more. The theatre seats more than 1,300 people, but keep an eye on scheduling because the opera does not run daily. Expect to anything from 20-100 Euros for a performance.

The Football

It is a mark of how far Palermo have come since their promotion to Serie A in 2003

that they boasted four members of Italy's World Cup-winning squad.

One of those, left-back Fabio Grosso - a real star in Germany - has since joined Inter, while Luca Toni was also a Palermo player until just over a year ago.

The club's fans are among the most passionate and dedicated in Serie A - even if the team do play in girly pink - and the 37,500 capacity Stadio Renzo Barbera two miles to the north of the city is often packed out, so get your tickets in advance at

www.ticketone.it and strap yourself in. If your game of choice is sold out, fellows Sicilians Messina and Catania are also in Serie A this season.
